Cashew cream is a classic in my vegan kitchen. Everytime you need a creamy consistency, cashew cream is the perfect ingredient for it. Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups soaked cashews
- Water for soaking
- 1/2 cup filtered water
Instructions
- First of all, soak cashews for minimum 2 hours
- Remove the soaking water
- Afterwards, put cashews into a mixer or blender and add the water
- Blend until you get a smooth paste
- If the cashew mixture does not turn into a cream, add a little more water and mix again
- Fill cashew cream into a jar and keep in the fridge
Notes
You can use cashew cream for creamy sauces, sweet desserts, smoothies, nut cheese or as an alternative for yoghurt. You can use all kinds of nuts, kernels and seeds to produce the cream – depending on your personal taste. Can be stored in the fridge up to one week.
