  • 31⁄4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 2½ tbsp olive oil (plus some more to drizzle)
  • 1½ cup water, lukewarm
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1½ tbsp dry active yeast

  1. First of all, preheat the oven to 445°F
  2. Add flour and salt to a bowl
  3. Drizzle olive oil on dry ingredients
  4. In a separate bowl mix water, maple syrup and yeast, set aside
  5. If water yeast mixture is foamy transfer to the other ingredients
  6. With your hands knead until all ingredients are homogeneously combined (about 5 minutes)
  7. The dough texture should be soft, smooth and sticky
  8. In case it is too sticky, add a little more flour until you get the right texture
  9. Cover bowl with a clean kitchen towel
  10. Place the bowl at a warm place and let it grow for 30-45 minutes
  11. Drizzle some olive oil on your hands before you shape the dough
  12. Depending on the crust’s thickness and the toppings the pizza bakes between 20 and 30 minutes or until desired crispness

I drizzle some extra olive on the baking sheet on which I am baking the dough. This step is important being able to handle the dough plus it makes the crust super crispy. Also make sure to put some extra olive oil on top of the unbaked crust. I always continue to add a self seasoned marinara sauce but you can also add a white base instead as you can see on the picture below. Be creative! The most important part about not failing is the olive oil and that your oven has a very high temperature. That’s it! Make the recipe and share your feedback!
BONUS: Place the dough in a container which is big enough and allows the dough to grow. Let ferment in the fridge overnight. It will get even more intense flavor.

Hi Katelyn, thank you for your comment, appreciate your feedback! It’s simply follow your heart parmesan cheese, garlic, red onions, oregano drizzled with a bit of good quality olive oil – that’s it! Not necessary to have more on top 😉 You will love it!

      Dear Rebecca,
      thanks for asking this question.
I haven’t tried making the dough with gluten free all purpose flour.
But I can try it next time I am making the dough and I will let you know.
